MONTICELLO, Minn. – Teams from across the state battled changing weather conditions during the Minnesota Public Golf Association’s Four-Ball Championship May 16-17 at Monticello Country Club. Due to the weather forecast, tournament officials shortened the championship to 27 holes, with the final round reduced from 18 holes to nine. In the Championship Division, Nick Jarrett of Alexandria Golf Club and Trent Peterson of Bunker Hills emerged victorious at 13-under-par 94 after rounds of 63 and 31. Jack Berry and Jeffrey Cannon finished just one stroke behind at 12-under 95, while the teams of Justin Burleson and Jesse Larson, along with Ralph Baxley and Ryan Conn, shared third place at 11-under 96. The championship division featured low scores and a tightly packed leaderboard throughout the weekend.
In the Senior Championship Division, Daryl Schomer and Steve Whittaker claimed the title at 9-under-par 97 following a final-round 34. Mark Aldrich and Austin Eaton placed second at 7-under 99, while Brad and Joel Johnson finished third at 6-under 100. The Net Division also featured dramatic finishes, as Brice Conner and Brian Orn captured the First Flight title with a birdie on the opening playoff hole to defeat Brian Lord and Patrick Murray after both teams finished at 8-under 98. In the Second Flight, Josh Daiker and Brian Paone secured victory with a net birdie on the second playoff hole after tying Ron McGuire and Jason Sommers at 7-under 100.
