BLAINE, Minn. -- Andrew McCain was one of three golfers to qualify for the U.S. Amateur Championship Friday at Victory Links Golf Course.
Charles Danielson, Osceola, Wisc., fired a two-round total of even par 142 to earn medalist honors as he qualified for the championship.
McCain, Minneapolis, carded a 143 total to finish one stroke behind the leader and will also be joined by Kyle Kochevar, Glen Ellyn, Ill., who finished at 143 as well.
The 113th U.S. Amateur Championship will be held August 12-18 at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.
Jake McLeod, Belgian Gardens, Australia, and Chad Merzbacher, Eden Prairie, Minn., finished as first and second qualifiers, respectively.
