Baker medals with 69, Five Others Qualify for MGA Players'

  JORDAN, Minn – Dylan Baker carded a 3-under par 69 Monday at Ridges at Sand Creek to earn medalist honors as well a spot in the Minnesota Golf Association Players’ Championship.

The qualifier was held to determine the field at the 37th Minnesota Golf Association Players’ Championship, which will be played June 22-24 at Spring Hill Golf Club in Wayzata, Minn., as 46 players were competing for seven qualifying positions.

Baker, Chaska Town Course, opened the qualifier with a 2-under par 34 on the front nine and followed it with a 1-under par 35 on the back.

Joining Baker at the Players’ Championship will be Jesse Larson, LeSueur Country Club, who carded an even par 72, while Drew Engelking, Interlachen Country Club, and Ben Frazzini, Medina Golf and Country Club, both earned a spot by shooting 1-over par 73.

Sam Foust, Edina Country Club, fired a 2-over par 74 to qualify, while Jack Riester, Windsong Farm, earned a spot by shooting 3-over par 75 Monday.

Minnesota Gopher Matt Rachey, Island View Golf Club, claimed the final qualifying spot by shooting a 4-over par 76.

Roger Borgeson, Braemar Golf Course, and Luke Johanson, Chaska Town Course, finished as first and second alternates, respectively.
