EDINA, Minn. (March 31, 2020) -- At this time, the MGA and its allied golf associations are seeking clarification of Governor Tim Walz's executive orders 20-04, 20-18 and 20-20 covering outdoor activities and the closure of places of public accommodation including golf facilities effective March 17 through 5 p.m., Friday, May 1. In addition, we are seeking confirmation that golf course personnel may continue turf maintenance practices to preserve and maintain the more than 450 golf courses in Minnesota during the spring, a critical time of seed/turf germination.
When either the clarification or confirmation is forthcoming, we will notify our individual members and member golf facilities. When the time arrives that golf operations will be allowed to commence, we would like everyone involved to proceed under the safest conditions possible.
