HUTCHINSON, Minn. – Carding a 1-under par 71 at Crow River Golf Club Friday, Connor Holland earned medalist honors as well as a spot in the 2015 Minnesota State Open.
A field of 25 golfers competed for five qualifying spots for this year’s event, which will be played July 24-26 at Mendakota Country Club.
Holland, the Meadows Golf Course, will be joined by Andrew McCain, Dellwood Country Club, who fired an even par 71, as well as Michael Marshall, Oak Ridge Country Club, who shot a 1-over par 72.
Paul Stankey, Hazeltine National Golf Club, earned a spot in the championship after carding a 2-over par 73 Friday, while Trey Fessler, Riverwood National Golf Course, grabbed the final qualifying spot, shooting a 3-over par 74.
Riley Duncanson (Brandon Golf Club), Matt Rachey (Island View Golf Club) and Jack Holmgren (Baker National Golf Club) finished as first, second and third alternates, respectively.
