CHISAGO LAKES, Minn. – Firing a 2-under par 70 Tuesday at Chisago Lakes Golf Course, Will Holmgren earned medalist honors as well as a spot in the 2015 Minnesota State Open.
A field of 30 golfers comprised the field for the qualifier with six players earning a spot in this year’s tournament, which will be played July 24-26 at Mendakota Country Club in Mendota Heights, Minn.
Holmgren, Baker National Golf Course, will be joined by Kyle Thul, Stillwater Country Club, who carded an even par 72, and by Bradley Wohlers, Keller Golf Course, who qualified shooting a 1-over par 73.
Jordan Hawkinson, Chisago Lakes Golf Course, earned a spot by shooting 2-over par 74, while Brennan Lafeber, Eagle Valley Golf Course, and Lucas Angrimson, Chisago Lakes Golf Course, grabbed the final two qualifying spots as both carded rounds of 4-over par 76.
Jacob Herdine (Rush Creek Golf Club), Dale Ross (Bent Creek Golf Club) and Randy Antonovich (University Golf Club) finished as first, second and third alternates, respectively.
