Lehman Tied for 30th at U.S. Senior Amateur; Anderson Shoots 75

  NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Making his second straight appearance at the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship, Jim Lehman fired a 1-over par 73 during the opening round Saturday at Big Canyon Country Club, currently sitting tied for 30th.

Fellow Minnesotan John Anderson is making his first USGA tournament appearance and after the first round is tied for 63rd after shooting a 3-over par 75.

Lehman, Minnetonka, Minn., is coming off his second consecutive Minnesota Senior Amateur championship and began the tournament with three bogeys and one birdie on the front nine before rolling in a single birdie on the back nine to card a 73.

Lehman will begin the second round Sunday at 3:05 p.m. at Big Canyon Country Club.

Anderson, Andover, Minn., shot even par on the front nine during Friday’s opening round before making three bogeys on the back nine to card a 75.

Anderson’s second round begins at 3:45 p.m. Sunday at Big Canyon Country Club.
