Meyer and O'Brien Qualify for MGA Mid-Players' Championship Along with Two Others

  ST. PAUL, Minn. – Scott Meyer and Joe O’Brien each carded rounds of even par 70 Thursday at Phalen Park Golf Course to share medalist honors and also earn a spot in the 2015 Minnesota Golf Association Mid-Players’ Championship.

A field of 26 players competed for four qualifying spots to this year’s event, which will be played co-currently with the MGA Senior Players’ Championship June 15-17 at Wayzata Country Club.

Meyer, Oak Marsh Golf Club, and O’Brien, Rush Creek Golf Club, will be joined by J.T. Johnson, Valleywood Golf Course, who carded a 1-over par 71, and by Jay Kautt, Highland National Golf Club, who fired a 2-over par 72 to qualify.

Will Hickey, Prestwick Golf Club, and Ben Walker, Highland National Golf Club, finished as first and second alternates, respectively.
