NISSWA, Minn. – David Scharenbroich fired a 1-under par 71 Tuesday at the Pines at Grand View Lodge to earn medalist honors as well as a spot in the 2015 Minnesota State Open.
A qualifying field of 31 players competed for seven spots to this year’s championship, which will be played July 24-26 at Mendakota Country Club in Mendota Heights, Minn.
Scharenbroich, St. Cloud Country Club, will be joined by Charlie Larson, Perham Lakeside Golf Club, Brady Swedberg, Geneva Golf Club, and Beau Hanson, Detroit Country Club, as each carded rounds of even par 72 Tuesday.
Mike Snow, Northwood Hills Golf Club, and Casey Vangsness, Alexandria Golf Club, finished at 1-over par 73 to qualify, while Shawn Chambers earned the final spot, shooting a 2-over par 74 Tuesday.
Thomas Stoxen, Cragun’s Legacy Courses, and Dave Schultz, Fargo Country Club, finished as first and second alternates, respectively.
