Extended Season Boosts Golf Rounds in Minnesota in 2024

WINDOM, Minn., -- Dillon Schultz carded a 3-over par 75 earning medalist honors in the Players Division Wednesday at the Minnesota Golf Association's Players Championship Qualifier at Windom Country Club.
Schultz, Springfield Country Club, is the lone qualifier in the Players Division as Bryan P. Fleegel, Blackberry Ridge Golf Club, and Cordell Weber, Fox Lake Golf Club, finished as first and second alternates respectively.
The qualifier was held to determine the field at the MGA's three annual match-play tournaments in June. The MGA Players Championships will be played June 24-26 at Interlachen Country Club in Edina, Minn., and the MGA Senior Players Championships and the MGA Mid-Players Championships will be held cocurrently at Island View Golf Club in Waconia, Minn. June 18-20.
In the Mid-Players Division, Michael Smith, Redwood Falls Golf Club, grabbed the only qualifying spot shooting a 2-over par 74. William Neumann, Madelia Golf Course, and Brad Geer, Interlachen Country Club, finished as first and second alternates respectively.
Brent Chozen, Jackson Golf Club, is the only qualifier from the Senior Division as he finished with an 8-over par 80. Mark Veglahn, Marshall Golf Club and Mike Snodgrass, Marshall Golf Club, finished as first and second qualifiers respectively.
The Windom qualifier was one of the smaller tournaments as just 15 players competed for 3 total spots.
