LAKEVILLE, Minn. – Earning a bye during the opening round of the 2015 Minnesota PGA Match Play Championship, top seeds Eddie Wynne and Don Berry each advanced from the Round of 32 Tuesday at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club.
Wynne, the defending champion, downed Daniel Callahan of Island View Golf Club, 4 and 2 Tuesday to advance to the Round of 16 and will face Mike Flaherty, who defeated Scott McDonald, 3 and 2, during the Round of 32 Tuesday.
Berry, Edinburgh USA, edged Brackett Crossing’s Mark Peterson, 1-up, Tuesday and will now face Timothy Brovold during Wednesday’s Round of 16 as Brovold defeated Kevin Cashman, 1-up, during the Round of 32.
Jeff Sorenson, the Minikahda Club, cruised during his first match of the tournament, defeating Erik Toftner, 7 and 6, and will face Christopher Sauer during the Round of 16 Wednesday.
Brent Snyder, Troy Burne Golf Club, advanced during his first match of the championship Tuesday, defeating George Smith of 2nd Swing, 4 and 2, as Snyder will face Tom Kirkland Wednesday during the Round of 16.
