The 57th MGA Amateur Four-Ball Deadlocked as Four Teams Share Lead with 64's

  HOPKINS, Minn. – Posting rounds of 6-under par 64 Tuesday the team of Trey Fessler and Cody Stovall as well as the team Jim Lehman and Jerry Rose earned a four-way share of the lead after the first round of play at the 57^th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Four-Ball Championship at Oak Ridge Country Club.
 
Joining Fessler, Stovall, Lehman and Rose is the twosome of Joe Conzemius and Will Hickey, as well as Justin Burleson and Austin Eaton, who both carded rounds of 64 during the opening wave Monday.
 
The top 15 teams from Monday’s round along with the top 27 teams from Tuesday’s round will now advance to the final round Wednesday, with the cutline falling at 2-under par during each of the first two days of competition. 
 
On Tuesday, Fessler and Stovall began their round on the 10^th tee and birdied their opening hole, but would card a bogey at the par-5 14^th to fall back to even. A birdie at the par-3 16^th put the two back to 1-under before they would find a rhythm on the back nine, carding five birdies over the first six holes to finish the day at 64 and in a four-way share of the lead.
 
Also starting on the 10^th tee Tuesday, Lehman and Rose started slowly with a bogey at the par-3 11^th, but the two would card three birdies over the final six holes of the front nine, including back-to-back birdies at eight and nine to turn at 2-under par.
 
Lehman and Rose would roll in four more birdies over their final nine holes Tuesday to fire an opening-round 64 to sit tied for the lead after 18 holes of play.
 
The final round of the 57^th MGA Amateur Four-Ball Championship gets underway at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Ridge Country Club.
