Established in 1977, the MGA/PGA Cup Matches pits the top playing amateurs (representing the MGA) against the top playing professionals (representing the Minnesota Section PGA) in this friendly, yet competitive, Ryder Cup-style competition. It is an honor to be selected to represent one of the teams as it reflects upon one's exceptional play from the previous year. There are many individuals who have represented both teams during their career, including Dave Nordeen, Bill Israelson, and Dave Tentis.
In 2011, Team PGA dominated the matches in virtually every way possible - singles, four-ball, seniors and regular men. Only the MGA Women were able to hold their own, winning 6 of 8 possible points.
