BIWABIK, Minn. – Carding an astonishing 18 birdies and just two bogeys over 36 holes this week, recent Rochester Mayo High School graduate Isaac Ahn posted back-to-back rounds of 64 to run away with the 2025 Minnesota Boys’ Junior PGA Championship by 10 strokes at The Quarry and Giants Ridge Golf and Ski Resort.
A stoppage in play due to inclement weather during the first round Monday couldn’t slow the future Harvard University freshman as he rolled in nine birdies against one bogey to take a five-stroke advantage when the first round concluded Tuesday.
Similar to his opening round, Ahn converted three birdie chances with one bogey during his opening nine of the second round Tuesday, before stringing together six birdies over a seven-hole stretch to cruise to a 10-stroke victory.
A Mr. Minnesota Golf finalist to close out his senior season, Ahn then placed tied for seventh at the Class AAA finale at Bunker Hills Golf Club, posting a 3-under 69 during his final high school round.
Ahn finished third in the state across all three classes with a 71.3 scoring average, with his season-low coming at the 1AAA Section Championship where he posted a final-round 66 to earn a six-stroke victory.
Boasting a weighted GPA of 4.93, Ahn scored a 1570 on his SAT—50 points better than the average Harvard student.
Easton Fiddle, recent winner of the Minnesota Public Golf Association Junior Public Links Championship, tallied back-to-back rounds of 69 to place second at 6-under 138.
Thanks to their performances this week, Ahn and Fiddle each earned a spot in the 2025 National Junior PGA Championship July 29-Aug. 1 at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Ind.
Elias Ekern, Will Hacker and Carson Boe each finished in a share of third place Tuesday, carding a 2-under 142 to finish 14 shots back.
