Golfers to Tee Off for Second Annual Golf Day Minnesota June 7th

EDINA, Minn. (May 30, 2025) – On June 7, golf courses across Minnesota will unite for Golf Day Minnesota, a statewide celebration of the game that brings people together—from first-time players to lifelong golfers. Hosted by the Minnesota Golf Association (MGA), the event encourages everyone to hit the course, share their experiences online, and use the official hashtag #GolfDayMN while tagging @mngolfassn.

“Golf Day Minnesota is about community, connection, and fun,” said Jon Mays, MGA executive director, adding, “we want to see every course abuzz with activity and every golfer sharing why they love the game.”

More Than a Round—A Celebration

In addition to social media-friendly photo ops and community engagement, Golf Day MN is the official kickoff of the Clubs for a Cause Donation Drive. In partnership with 2nd Swing Golf, participating courses (see list below) will collect gently used clubs throughout June to benefit Youth on Course Minnesota. Courses are also encouraged to spotlight their “Good of the Game” programs—junior leagues, beginner clinics, inclusive initiatives, and partnerships with organizations like First Tee Minnesota, PGA Hope Minnesota, and the Solomon Hughes Sr. Golf Academy.

How to Participate

  • Play golf anywhere in Minnesota on June 7th
  • Share photos/videos using #GolfDayMN and tag @mngolfassn
  • Drop off used clubs at designated donation sites
  • Support your local course’s community efforts

“This day is about celebrating what makes golf great for all Minnesotans,” said Mays. “Let’s make June 7th a day to remember.”
