May Heralds Robust Rounds Report

EDINA, Minn. (June 28, 2023) -- Golf Datatech, a consumer and retail research company specializing in the golf industry in the U.S. and Europe, released its monthly rounds report yesterday, June 27. In May, rounds in Minnesota were up 29.7 percent over May 2022. Compared to the rest of the country, rounds in Minnesota and the West North Central region (including Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and the Dakotas), were nearly double the national average, up 18.7 percent.

For golf courses in the Twin Cities, rounds were up 16.3 percent.

In a slightly longer view, that is, year-to-date through May 2023 vs. 2022, rounds were up 21.5 and 11.9 percent for Minnesota and the Twin Cities, respectively, and up 17.4 percent for the West North Central region. Warmer temperatures and decreased precipitation were significant factors in the rounds increases.
