MGA Names New Digital Media Manager

EDINA, Minn. (Sept. 15, 2024) - The Minnesota Golf Association (MGA) has announced the hiring of Nicholas Thorngren as its new Digital Media Manager, effective September 16. Thorngren, 42, of Edina, Minn., will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies in support of the MGA's brand and mission, enhancing the association's existing digital presence and improving engagement across all its digital media channels.

“Nicholas will bring a myriad of wide-ranging experiences to the MGA from his background in digital media creation and marketing. His unique perspective and creative approach will serve as a valuable asset as we seek to engage Minnesota golfers more meaningfully in the digital space,” said Jon Mays, MGA executive director and COO.

Thorngren, who was born and raised in Lake City, Minn., moved to Chicago where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Audio for Visual Media at Columbia College. After more than a decade as an English consultant for U.S. companies based in Taiwan, he was named creative director for POSAMO, an architectural and design company in Taichung. After returning to Minnesota, Thorngren founded a digital media studio, Studio MOSA, in Edina, specializing in video-centric content creation for locally owned businesses.
