Thor and Fiddle Claim Top Honors at MPGA Junior Public Links

OAKDALE, Minn. – Converting a late eagle Friday at Oak Marsh Golf Course helped Taylor Thor to a 7-over 112, claiming a one-stroke victory at the 39th Minnesota Junior Public Links Championship.

Thor posted a 5-over 75 during the first 18 holes of the championship to trail by two strokes with nine holes to play before she played her final four holes in 2-under par, thanks to an eagle at the par-5 seventh.

Finishing with back-to-back pars at the eighth and ninth, Thor claimed a one-stroke victory over Briana Simek.

Simek carded a 4-over 74 to open the championship one shot back of the lead, but she would stumble with three bogeys over her first five holes and would card a bogey at the 27th hole of the championship to fall one stroke short of Thor at 8-over 113.

Madalyn Fee posted a 9-over 114 to finish third, while Addie Schinka placed fourth by carding a 10-over 115, three shots back.
