2024 Ms. and Mr. Minnesota Golf

EDINA, Minn. (May 3, 2024) - The Ms. and Mr. Minnesota Golf Committee is pleased to announce the date and location for the eighth annual Ms. Minnesota Golf and Mr. Minnesota Golf Awards banquet, Sunday June 9 (6 p.m.) at Windsong Farm Golf in Independence, Minn.

This year's keynote speaker will be Olivia Herrick, 35, of Roseville, Minn. Herrick is a six-time MGA Women's Player of the Year with 13 individual state golf championships to her credit, including a pair each of the State Amateur and State Open championships. As a Division I golfer at Drake University, Herrick was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year in 2009 and selected twice for the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team. She won the Hawkey Invitational in 2009 and claimed eight additional wins while at Drake. At Mounds Park Academy she was the first student-athlete to earn a NCAA Division I scholarship.

The Ms. and Mr. Minnesota Golf Committee, chaired by Phillip Ebner and comprised of high school coaches and Minnesota golf leadership, will release an initial 2024 “Watchlist” of prospective female and male senior candidates on Friday May 10. The “Watchlist” candidates are culled from data collected from the MGA's High School Rankings, the iWanamaker App results, and input from golf coaches and the committee.

A group of finalists based on their respective performances in the 2024 high school tournament season will be invited to the banquet on June 9 where two individual golfers will be presented with the award as Ms. Minnesota Golf and Mr. Minnesota Golf.

The 2023 award winners, Joseph Rohlwing (Eastview) and Kathryn VanArragon (Blaine), began their freshman year last fall at the University of South Dakota and the University of St. Thomas, respectively. All nominees and their families will be invited to attend.
