Olhoff and Riddle Capture MPGA Junior Public Links Titles

Olhoff and Riddle Capture MPGA Junior Public Links Titles

OAKDALE, Minn. – The Minnesota Public Golf Association crowned a pair of champions Friday at the 2026 Junior Public Links Championship, played at Oak Marsh Golf Club, where Abigail Olhoff pulled away in the Girls Division and Easton Fiddle did the same on the boys side to close out the 27-hole event.

Olhoff, of YOC Minnesota, was in a class of her own among the girls. She opened with a 70 and never relinquished control, building a championship total of 104 to win by five — the only player in the field to keep the rest of the leaderboard at arm's length from start to finish. Fellow YOC Minnesota player Aliyah Kleven mounted the closest pursuit at 109, posting the second-best total of the championship but never able to make a real dent in Olhoff's margin.

Sylvia Seifert of YOC Minnesota and Clara Heinen shared third at 111, with Lucy Oberdorfer and Taylor Thai of USGA/Minnesota GC tied for fifth at 112. The week doubled as a showcase for YOC Minnesota members, with several of its players among the leaders. Addison Schinke (113) headed a tightly bunched chase group that included Maddie Klein and Island View's Sonja Johnson before the girls cut fell at 14 over par.

The boys division was nearly as one-sided at the top, and lower on the scorecard. Fiddle set the tone with a sizzling opening 64 and never looked back, closing out the title at 100 to win by two. Sully Bowlan of Detroit Country Club pushed him hardest, matching Fiddle's fast start before settling for runner-up honors at 102 alongside Edina Country Club's Michael Vernon. Dominic Wagner of USGA/Minnesota GC sat a stroke further back at 103.

A logjam formed just behind the leaders, as Charlie Nielsen of Oak Ridge Country Club, Max Roessle of Minnesota Valley CC and Oliver Theod each carded 104 to share fifth. Ryder Rose of YOC Minnesota and a cluster of players in the mid-100s fronted a deep and competitive group that stretched well down the board before the boys cut landed at 7 over par — a reflection of a field full of the state's top juniors chasing two of its hottest hands all week.
