Minnetonka Repeats as Class AAA Girls Champions Behind Reding's Individual Title

Minnetonka Repeats as Class AAA Girls Champions Behind Reding's Individual Title

After winning the Class AAA team title by 19 strokes for the first team title in program history a year ago at Bunker Hills, the girls from Minnetonka High School entered the 2026 season as the state’s top-ranked team for good reason.

Refusing to budge from the top spot for the entirety of the 2026 season, the Skippers held a commanding 15-stroke advantage following Tuesday’s opening round, and turned in an identical team tally of 294 during Wednesday’s final round to cruise to a 35-stroke victory over the Crimson from Maple Grove High School for the second consecutive season.

Senior and 2026 Ms. Minnesota Golf finalist Ruby Reding led the way for Minnetonka by pacing the field with a 2-under 70 Tuesday before posting a 71 during the final round of her prep career to capture a three-stroke individual win over Northfield High School’s Karina Johnson at 3-under 141.

Teammate Kieley Hanson finished three shots better than her opening-round score Wednesday, shooting 1-under 71 to finish in a share of third with Edina High School senior Emmy Indereiden at 1-over 145.

The Skippers also got a key contribution from Selena Wu, who fired one of eight scores under par this week, a 1-under 71, to finish inside the top-10 at 5-over 149.

Sophomore Elizabeth Fong bounced back from an opening-round 79 by firing a 2-over 74 during Wednesday’s final 18 holes of competition to finish in a share of 15th at 9-over 153.
